I drew out my version of WALLE the little garbage bot less than a year ago, but since developing a new "style" of cartooning that I have grown to love, I decided to experiment drawing WALLE in this way. I whipped this up yesterday and was actually proud of the result.
I did this all in pencil, by the way, but I just outlined it a bit darker than I normally do. The reference picture from the film I used involved WALLE hopefully looking up at EVE, and all I could imagine was the little guy excitedly showing her his dearly loved Hello, Dolly! tape. This is where the inspiration for the position came from.
I'm really, really bad at hands and have only recently been trying to force myself into purposely making sketches that involve hands, because I need that practice. What do you think about the hands?
Overall very proud of this sketch. Now that I have the basic face and body I've been imagining, it's all a matter of putting him in different situations and such. Ah, the fun of humanization...!

WALLE is the copywright (C) of Disney-Pixar. Art by VinDeamer.
That is so cute, I swear. His expression is adorable.
I'm no artistic expert, but from the looks of it you got his stance down wonderfully. The hands seem fine, as well, although the right one could use just a little bit of work, perhaps. I'd suggest referring to your own hands or even images of real people's hands when drawing these tricky extensions.
Thanks for the comments and the fave, Mitch! Seriously, my stuff's really not worth favoriting, so seeing it happen really lifts my spirits. Thank you ever so much!
I did refer to my own hand for WALL•E's left (pointing) hand, however the right hand was a little fist I had learned to draw a couple years ago. I guess the arm could have been a little shorter; maybe a bit "fatter" per se.
Again, thanks always! Makes me happy to know that my work gets attention, however small right now.
You're welcome, and of course your stuff is worth "favoriting"! You have great potential.
Mmm. Yes, WALL•E's pointing hand looks great. His clenched fist isn't horrible or anything; the way it's shaped simply looks a little bit odd to me. All in all, it's good that you referred to your own hand. It does help in the long run.
Don't quote me on anything though, as far as critique goes. I'm still an amateur.

Keep up the good work, red!
