Trying to get back into drawing with my pencil on paper. It's been quite a while. :')
I guess you could call this a sort of 'warm up' sketch. I don't know what else I'm going to draw (I want to do some more random sketches of Renata and eventually some Tangled fanart), but hopefully this will get me motivated to draw again.
My style changes every single time I draw Renata (cuz I don't draw her enough. :/), so it's like I have to rediscover her every single time I draw her.
I don't have a scanner, and I took this with my camera. Sorry if the quality looks crappy! D: I tried to fix it up the best I could in PS. (I might go scan it on my mom's comp when she's not using it, and resubmit a better version of this later.) I might even slap a bit of color on this as well, when I get a better version scanned.
Journey's live albums, as well as the albums 'Captured', 'Escape', and 'Raised on Radio' were used for inspiration. I imagine Renata to be absolutely in love with Journey.
Hmm, I suppose there's a bit of resemblance to those two, haha!
My sister asked me if I used an old picture of our mom when I drew this, and I said 'no, I just used a picture of Alfredo and some of my old Renata sketches.' Apparently, she turned out looking a lot like my mom here (which was unintentional), but now that sis mentioned it, I can kinda see it!
Oh yes, I've been on such a Journey kick the past few days. It's really gotten me in the mood to draw Renata, though, which is good cuz I hardly draw her. :') I really want to get some sketches of her and Larousse made, because I imagine they were really good friends in school judging by the way Larousse talks so fondly of her in the film. (Not to mention, he seems to be the one with the most information about Renata, so I just imagined them being good friends or something! )
