_{I know the date is different, but I typically try to use the actual date I drew stuff :V

I think this was the first thing I drew this year!! I don't know if anyone remembers Altair, but he's my little space brat who grows up to be an astronaut. ;u; I say "space brat" because back when I created him (2003... in October he'll be 10 freaking years old. ;______; ), he was a Martian who, through a series of unhappy accidents, became human. (it's a long story that initially involved Jimmy Neutron and "scientific elixirs".)

Obviously that isn't the story anymore. :V I can't say a lot about him or his story because he's technically a main character in the novel I'm writing!!! but I thought you'd like to see an updated version of him, since the only other time I posted a drawing of him was wayyyy back in '09 when my art was icky.

also in that description it will say that Kyle Mir, the commander of the mission to Mars that Altair flies on, was Altair's cousin... but that was also scrapped from the story quite some time ago.

this drawing, though it's simple, makes me indescribably happy. when I look at it and compare it to my original drawings of Altair, it makes me smile, because now I am truly drawing Altair the way I always imagined. I'm finally putting down what I always wanted, but my hand couldn't produce back in 2003. it's a bit of a surreal, but insanely fulfilling, feeling. :')
