_{YAY TRADITIONAL ART. 8DDD

So yeah - this was what I was sketching last night. I can't help but be like freakin' proud of it, because first of all, IT'S ALFREDO. You can't resist the cuteness here. And secondly, I haven't shaded in decades (or so it seems), and I found that rubbing in different areas really gave it a soft, dreamy-kinda look, which I like. It really works with the pictures.

This is just one of several different drawings I'll be doing of him. Eventually I'll put them all together as some sort of aging montage thingy that will look awesome and be like "D'AWWW" and whatever.

For now enjoy what I'd like to call the preview.

Alfredo Linguini is so adorable in your style. I thank you so much for making him as a baby. I was really hoping someone would draw that out.
The shading is excellent and the left panel where he's asleep in the blankets is totally to cuddle for.
I absolutely admire Linguini.

Ooh! Ratatouille was absolutely fun to watch yesterday.

Aww, you don't have to thank me! I don't see enough (good) art of him as an infant here, so I thought I would try my hand. Plus that visual of him as a newborn all wrapped up in blankies with his little curls sticking out of his cap had been in my mind for a while now. I needed to draw it out, and badly.

I really look forward to seeing more Alfredo Linguini fanarts. I do hope to see more infant art concepts of Linguini as well in your own fully colored style.

I always wondered and imagined Linguini exactly the way you sketched him as a newborn wrapped up nicely in a blanket [sometimes with his expression yawning].

It's totally to melt for. I could just hug you for making this and the drawing.

Nice to see some good ol' fangled traditional art. These are very nice sketches, both so adorable. (Apparently Alfredo was born the same year as me!) Back when I was doing traditional art, I'd use a Q-tip to smudge on the shading. It's a little more accurate than my finger. hehe

Aww, thank you! I had forgotten how much I love shading on paper. For some odd reason, it comes so much more naturally to me than shading in the computer. Yeah, I should probably use a Q-tip too, but by the time the sketching is finished, I'm too anxious to finish it that I forget. xDDD

Well, use whatever technique is best for you. Honestly, I'm the only person I know who uses the Q-tip technique. It can be kinda slow.

My sister tried the Q-tip technique on her Shadow picture (the b/w sketch version) and it seemed to work out well enough for her. I guess I just haven't drawn the "right" picture in which to try that technique, if you know what I mean.
